NEW SHIT!!!

HEAD OVER TO TECHMOROBO TO SEE THE NEW SITE!!!!

Still having problems but fear not…

I will be unveiling something within the new couple days, still having random blog problems seeming to indicate a hacker.  Reading post over on Nubby’s blog it seems she had a similar problem as me, I’ve completely re uploaded all my files lets see if that helps. My random updates will be taken care of, in the mean time I’ll be getting back to updating this blog regularly.

Back up again

Finally back up a month later, but don’t worry i didn’t let the time go to waste and I’m working on something new. Once I adjust a few things get ready to say hello to 2.0 :D

Illustrator Tutorial – Patterns and Shapes

illustrator shapes and patterns tutorial results

This is the result of following the tutorial exactly

Heres the result of another quick tutorial, I’m trying to stick to video tutorials so I can watch everything step by step. This one is for making shapes using patterns.  Cool looking results I think and its about a 7 minute long video. Try it out and come up with something cool I just did a quick easy robot face to start it off.

quick robo face, it took like 2 minutes to do after watching the video

The potential is pretty cool, I’m gonna mess with using the pathfinder tool and see if that helps with the curves.

Refresher course

I’ve been really drawn to vector illustration and characters, they can be anything to fresh and cartoony which I love (as I type this I just realized I want to make a vector powerpuff girl.) That is of course not all they can be, as I’ve been reading Logo Design Love (yep I finally got my copy) it reminded me how much fun illustrator was.

the last real think I did in illustrator

this is the last real thing I did in illustrator, know who this is?

Problem is, I haven’t really used illustrator since I took a class in it about a year and change ago. So on that note, I’ve been finding some basic tutorials as refresher, first one was very quick and pretty informative, I had no clue what the path finder tool was before I did this tutorial by Chris Spooner. Check out the results and to find out who it is in the picture hit the jump.

This took about 5 minutes to do and it goes over a quite a few tricks and tools that I didn’t know about. Check it out here at blog.spoongraphics. Have any other tutorials or you’re on the same track? Hit up the comments section and let me know.  More >

(red)

logo for (red) products

Red is my favorite color, one of the primary colors, its known to evoke strong reactions.  The brightness catches the eyes of others, when I have a red on it inspires confidence to wear something so attention grabbing. Used for stop signs and traffic lights the world over, this color is known for love ,courage, strength, blood, guilt, anger and even sin. A quote from wikipedia references the bible “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow.”  A quick google search came up with this when I searched for red in color theory.

Red is the color that provokes the most physiological responses. It has been shown that red causes the human heart beat and blood pressure to rise and to aid the interconnection of brain neurons. It has also been shown that people working in a red environment work faster, but they also make more mistakes. It increases restlessness and nervous tension. Also, red is commonly regarded to increase appetite

Some would actually disagree with red being used on the web, however fuck those guys I love red and I’ll continue to use it, I looked around and took pictures of all my red stuff. Hit the jump to see my stuff, not pictured is my red suit case when I get my new camera (also red) I’ll put that up as well.

P.S.

Don’t mind my messy bed.

Citizen kaNO

kaNO dunk girl

I’ve had this picture drawn by KaNO for a few years now .  I thought of it last night and I wanted to share it with everyone but not as the pic of the day because I wanted to show more of kaNO’s art.  A New York designer and illustrator this picture started my love of his style and I already have my eye on a few pieces of work that I want including his book and limited edition wallet. Here are a few other things hes done.  More >
